The Kaffeeklatsch beta update invites your site's visitors to the conversation
with the ability to add comments to pages. Like any good hostess,
of course, Big Medium insists on polite conversation; indelicate topics
involving little blue pills simply will not do. This update adds vigorous
anti-spam features to help prevent spammers from bombarding your
email-this-page and comment forms.
Coffee talk, of course, is about more than a tasty danish. It's about
being in the know. This update makes sure that you stay in the loop,
allowing editors to subscribe to e-mail alerts about new comments,
new pages and status changes.
And to keep things neat and tidy, a bunch of bug fixes are included, too.

The Nitty Gritty
Here's what's new in this version.
New features
New <%comments%> widget allows visitors to post messages to site pages.
(See the new "Visitor Comments" screen in "Settings>HTML Preferences.")
Comment moderator features let you edit site comments or review comments
marked as spam or otherwise held for review. These options are available
from the "Edit" menu for accounts with publisher privileges or better.
Vigorous spambot detection for "Email this page" and visitor comment forms,
including a customizable challenge question to help make sure that it's
a human submitting the form. (See the new spam screen in
"Settings>HTML Preferences.")
Added support for the Akismet spam-detection service to prevent spam
messages in page comments.
Big Medium account-holders can now subscribe to e-mail alerts from
their "my account" page. Alerts may be received when:
- Pages are added
- Pages change status
- Comments are awaiting review
- Comments are published to the site
New optional settings in the "Big Medium Server Info" screen:
Akismet API key and proxy server information.
Improved preview display for pages whose templates use server-side-include
tags.
Bug fixes
Fixed a bug that caused IE6 to display "please provide a value" message
when clicking on pulldown menus in the control panel.
Fixed a bug in rich-text editor that caused "file not found" error message
to flash briefly when opening dialog pop-ups.
In Firefox, if pasting in the rich-text editor is blocked by the browser
security settings, a "Paste" popup is shown to complete the paste.
Fixed a bug that prevented Internet Explorer from pasting into the
rich-text editor if the browser's "Allow paste operation via script"
preference was disabled.
Fixed a crashing error when leaving a required field blank for certain
items (e.g., the URL for related links).
Fixed a bug on page-rebuilding and site-importing pages where, if your
session expired, a file download would start instead of displaying
the progress bar. Also improved error detection and messaging for
progress bars.
Fixed a bug that prevented hotlinked images from opening in a new window
for external links even if the site's HTML preferences indicate that
they should.
Fixed a bug that caused HTML errors in metadata tags for pages with quotes
in description text entered via the rich-text editor.
Fixed a bug in the library editor that could cause an empty screen when
deleting a library item and there's an I/O error when updating changed
pages behind the scenes.
Fixed Firefox auto-fill behavior to stop it from automatically filling the
"new password" field on the "edit account" screen.
