Dead-Tree Versions of the PDF Guides

Posted Feb 5, 2007 (updated Jun 14, 2007)

I added options today for ordering printed, bound copies of the Big Medium 2 book and the Prototype 1.5 documentation. The service is provided by Print(fu), which offers affordable printing of PDFs and shipping anywhere in the US. Ordering one of these books costs $15-$20, depending on the shipping option you select.

While I've heard good things about Print(fu), I haven't actually used the service myself (in fact, I can't, since the company doesn't ship to Europe). But with rates lower than Kinko's, even with shipping, it certainly appears to be a convenient and affordable way for US residents to get physical copies of electronic documents.

Similarly, my past experiences with Kinko's online printing interface were way too painful; the Print(fu) interface is simplicity itself. I hope and trust that the end product is just as good.

If you decide to use Print(fu), drop me a line at support@globalmoxie.com and let me know if you're satisfied with the quality of the document and service.

I'd also welcome pointers to similar services outside of the US. Got a company that offers prompt, affordable on-demand binding of PDFs, with shipping to Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Africa or South America? I'd like to hear about it.

Sure, you can always take a PDF to a local print shop for printing and binding. And if you have a favorite local printer, I encourage you to do that. Meantime, I'm looking for convenient online options to help people get their mitts on some paper in a hurry.
