Help for the Big Medium CMS

search widget issue

Hi Josh,

I'm creating a new site and am having some odd issues with the search widget. For example, if you visit http://www.lakitchenobx.com/view-online-catering-menu/index.shtml and enter "seafood" in the search box - it just redirects to the "Meet Elizabeth" page. And it is even odder in that if you go to the same page and query "eggs", it brings you to the newsletter archive page. No rhyme or reason, no word 'egg' on that page, nothing. And if you query Louisiana on the same page, it brings you to the search results page with 4 results for Louisiana, as expected. It all seems entirely random and the same form works for some phrases and not others, some forms do not work at all and some work fine.

Any ideas?

:D

Hi Susan,

Thanks for your note. When the search engine finds just one result, it takes you automatically to that page. For example, when you searched for "seafood," the "meet elizabeth" page was the only page that included that word on the site, so it took you straight there. Same for the "eggs" search result (I do see the word "egg" on the page where you're redirected, the menu page).

Now, when you search for "seafood," the result is on both the "meet elizabeth" and menu page, so you get two search results instead of being taken straight to an actual page.

Hope that helps! As always, please let me know if you have any questions or otherwise run into any problems.

All best,
Josh
